As a working artist Moy Mackay is always on the lookout for new places to visit for the odd week or two to create new work. A change of landscape offers fresh and new inspiration. This is essential for an artist’s development however Moy has found it near impossible to find accommodation that offers both living accommodation and studio space. For this reason she is offering other artists/makers/writers, the opportunity to rent a lovely garden studio and accommodation at her home in the Scottish Borders. The surrounding countryside is stunning and within a 10 mile radius you can be transported to additional places of outstanding beauty. Moy works from another studio within the house. The studio is rented per week with minimum stay being one week.

Moy shares her home with four dogs so this opportunity is only suitable for those who are comfortable with these furry pals!

Apart from some nosey dogs coming to say hello, you will be left alone to concentrate on your work however with some shared indoor spaces it is possible you may come together to share a meal or two with others staying if you would like the company.

Moy lives in a beautiful house in the hills of the Scottish Borders.

With your own private double bedroom, tastefully decorated and furnished for comfort you have access to all communal area within the house. Bathrooms may be shared with other residents in the house though it is likely that you will have sole use of the nearest bathroom for your stay.

The large farmhouse-style kitchen diner features an Aga and acts as a central hub within the home.

As a resident artist you will have access to your own private studio. This is a custom built space located in the top corner of the garden.

From this bright yet tranquil space you have views over the surrounding hills and countryside.

The studio is equipped with electricity and heating to ensure your comfort whatever the weather.

The space is secure and private - only you will have access to the studio during your stay.

6 nights’ residency with Moy is priced at £800. This includes:

• a private room in the house overlooking either the garden or the surrounding countryside

• full access to all communal areas, unlimited (and fast!) WiFi, plus all utilities and bills.

• unrestricted access to a private studio in Moy’s garden with views of surrounding countryside

• Meals are not provided, however you will have your own refrigerator in the kitchen and free use of all kitchen equipment.
